Maybe there are sunshowers in other cities, too. I don’t know. I really don’t seem to hear about them anywhere else. But we certainly have them in St. Petersburg, with some regularity. Sometimes, the sun is shining just as brightly as can be and then it starts raining. And when you have rain falling and sun shining at the same time, that’s a sunshower!
Since I started this blog, I’ve been wanting to get a photo of a sunshower to post, but it’s not an easy image to capture. The angle has to be just right or you won’t see the rain. Or maybe you won’t see the sun. And there has to be a covered place to stand while you get the shot. Well, this morning I looked out the window and saw a sunshower that looked like it wanted to be photographed. It’s not as dramatic as some are, and I reserve the right to re-post with a more exciting version at some future date. But it is, nonetheless, a sunshower. If you look in the upper right-hand corner, you can see the sun shining. And if you look in the general vicinity of the middle of the screen, you’ll see rain falling.
