Today is the day for the City of St. Petersburg’s Primary Election. Voters will cast their ballot for a new mayor, with ten candidates to choose from. The two favorites will move forward to the November election, at which time we’ll make the final choice for the man or woman who will become our new mayor. In addition to the mayoral race, there are three city council seats to be decided this year, as well as one city charter amendment. So, in honor of this day, I thought I’d post a picture of St. Petersburg’s City Hall. It’s totally relevant – it’s where the new mayor and council members will hang out once they’re chosen. And it makes for a quick and easy post. That’s important to me, because I work on Election day as an Elections Advisor, acting as a supervisor and troubleshooter for several polling places in St. Petersburg. It’s a very long day – I begin at 5:30 AM and will likely finish my day at about 9:00 PM. So, no time for a big post! I’m preparing this one ahead of time, and will hit the ‘Publish’ button just before I leave the house. I hope that you get out and exercise your right to vote!
